Do other readers struggle with foot clearance when using the pedals of the Peugeot 207?

Further to an email some time ago in which HJB refers to a braking defect on his Peugeot 207, I totally agree and support your comments in respect of the lack of foot clearance in the Peugeot. My wife has a 206 and on many occasions I have fouled the accelerator pedal when braking, causing the engine to accelerate and creating a dangerous situation. I'm 5 feet 6 inches and wear size 7 shoes. How bigger males can drive this car without jeopardising the safety of other road users is impossible to think. This car has a major safety design defect which must have been the cause of several accidents.

This has been a criticism of small Citroens and Peugeots for some time, including Saxos, 106s, C3s, and 206s. Welted shoes accentuate the problem because they can be about half an inch wider than moccasin type shoes.

I suggest that FD of Brentwood should try lowering his seat cushion. I too am 6-feet 1-inch tall, and drive an automatic. When I bought my present car I experienced a pain in my right leg until I adjusted...
I've recently past my test and I'm currently looking at cars but I'm 6ft10 and need good legroom. What do you suggest?
What’s the best first car for a tall man? He’s 6'8" and needs a lot of legroom.
