We've had to delay the part-exchange of our Yaris for a new Jazz by a month - is a £400 price increase excessive?

We recently went to our local Honda dealer, and negotiated the purchase of a Honda Jazz to replace our '08 plate Yaris (5-door, 1.3 petrol, 21,000 miles). We agreed a price, taking into account trading in the Yaris, and then discussed availability/collection, delayed by a fortnight due to holiday. At the manager's instruction £400 was added to the price, to take into consideration extra depreciation on the book price of our Yaris, because the transaction was then going into the next month. We accepted this in good faith - they are a reputable dealership - but I want to check - is this excessive?

October trade price for an '08 Yaris 1.3 T3 5-dr manual with 31,000 miles was £5,700. November trade price for an '08 Yaris 1.3 T3 5-dr manual with 32,000 miles was £5,675. December trade price for an '08 Yaris 1.3 T3 5-dr manual with 33,000 miles was £5,625. The ‘book’ may be a bit optimistic here, but I don't see any justification in hitting you for a £400 month-to-month drop.
