Are dealers liable for repairs necessary to a car for the first six months after sale?

Some time back you reported a legal precedent where a dealer was held liable for repairs to a car that developed faults in the first six months from the date of sale. I have searched your website but cannot find it, perhaps you can restate it or point me in the right direction.

Not a precedent. A law. The case law most commonly applied is the Supreme Court judgement in Clegg v Olle Anderson (trading as Nordic Marine) 11-3-2003. More here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights
