Why aren't overhead gantries used to tell drivers to keep to the inside lane on motorways?

The sheer arrogance of NH beggars belief. He seems to believe that he and his CLOG members have a divine right to force other motorway users to undertake (potentially dangerous) or overtake him in lane three, while he drifts merrily along in the centre lane. He is probably driving along at about 65 mph and should move back to the left lane as other 'faster' drivers want to pass at a legal speed. In any case, be it 60, 70 or 80mph that he's driving at, he has no authority to dictate that faster traffic has to change lane to pass him. Most CLOG members that I encounter are rarely travelling at 70mph and seem completely unaware of the problems they are causing and the potential accidents they are creating. How about the authorities use the overhead gantries to post 'KEEP TO THE INSIDE LANE' or some such messages? We need to do something about this menace, including making them aware that they are the dangerous, selfish drivers.

So very right. But you should see some of the unpublishable e-mails that my more reactionary readers have fired at me over this one. ’Keep left unless overtaking’ is sometimes displayed on the overhead gantries.
