I sent a cheque for £10 to Parking Eye adding disabled appeal, but they've rejected it. What now?

Since my last email to you I sent a cheque for £10 to Parking Eye as you advised adding disabled appeal, my age (80), 13 mins over time limit etc. I've received today a Final Notice with the charge upped to £120 and threats of debt collectors, court proceedings and bailiffs attending my address to remove goods if I don’t pay. They also accuse me of 'parking abuse'. Please do you have any further advice?

Write back telling reminding them of their legal obligation to use a court near where you live and tell them you will see them in it. They will try to intimidate you into paying, but legally this is a contractual matter and they have no grounds or right to inflict this 'penalty' on you without a court order. Any further harassment, report them to the police for threatening behaviour. Helpful FAQ at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/parking-fines
