Would you recommend the Lexus RX400h as a particularly soft ride?

As a result of a domestic accident, my wife seriously feels pain every time I drive over a matchstick so I need a very, very soft ride for her. I have been offered a 2005 Lexus RX 400h SE CVT with 45,000 miles, which appears to be in very good condition. I am part-exchanging a 2003 Volvo V70 estate, 2.4-litre petrol, 73,000 miles, now looking a bit shabby and well used, although still mechanically sound. I assume it will need belts changing in the not too distant future. The deal on offer is my Volvo and £13,500 for the Lexus - or I will look at a newer Volvo to upgrade to. We can afford £13,500 plus the Volvo - but I would very much appreciate your opinion, please.

Make sure you take your wife for a run in the RX400h before buying it. Smooth drivetrain, but big wheels and relatively low profile tyres, so take it over a few speed humps, potholes and bad surfaces on your test drive. Excellent vehicle, though. V8 petrol SUV performance and better than V6 diesel fuel economy. This is a hybrid that really works.
