Engine problem with a used BMW
I have purchased a 57 registered BMW E91 Touring from Car Giant with full service history and for a fair price. Within two days the car was misfiring at low engine speeds.
Taking it to my local main BMW dealership resulted in them recommending a software update (apparently you have to pay for them to fix their faulty software). This having not solved the problem they have informed me that an ignition coil, all four injectors and spark plugs need replacing at the cost of more than £1000.
I took out a warranty with Warrantywise on the date that I purchased the car, but am concerned that, given the short time frame, they may decide that the faults were pre-existing.
I am dismayed that quite so much is going wrong with a well looked after, low mileage BMW, and spoke with the dealership about how this engine appears to have a lot of problems with injectors, and asked whether BMW shouldn't be paying to replace defective parts, but to no avail.
I don't know what to do with the car now: sell it on, or pay to repair it and hope the injectors last this time, or hope that warrantywise will foot the bill.
Is there any point trying to get anything out of BMW - an internet search will show this is a common problem with their four cylinder petrol engines?

Talk to Car Giant. They usually pick up the pieces in cases like this. They actually have a legal obligation to whatever warranty you purchased. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ Yes, it is a common problem with BMW 4 cylinder petrol engines.
