Poor economy on a Focus 1.6 TDCI
I recently purchased a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI Econetic. I bought it because it was meant to be averaging 65.6mpg combined, only to find that it was barely averaging 45mpg after 400mile combined cycle. I was wondering if there was something wrong with the DPF system, I tried a manual regeneration motorway journey in 4th gear at 3000 rpm, there is no managment light on at the dash, and I'm not sure if this model has one, but if so, would my DPF fluid tank be empty?

I had precisely this model, in 2008/2009. It started at 64mpg, but wound up averaging a brim to brim calculated 55mpg over 8,000 miles. It used to regenerate fine on BP Ultimate diesel. Depending on the mileage it is possible that the Eolys fluid could be low, or that the reservoir bladder has sprung a leak.
