Excessive fuel consumption on a Focus

Earlier this year my fuel consumption reduced by about 5 to 10%, I check the consumption weekly and do the same journeys each week.

I changed the air filter but it made no difference. In June I had a new cambelt fitted and the consumption was better than it had ever been for about 3 months, since then it has continued to drop off to around a 20% reduction on both short and long journeys.

I have had new plugs and coil pack, new tyres and the pressures are correct, the brakes are not binding and it is driving well. It is a 2001 car but only has 77000 miles on the clock. Any ideas?

Probably dirty injectors. Try adding a fuel system cleaner to the tank then running exclusively on Shell V-Power. That should clean it up.
