DPF fault on a Peugeot 307

I have recently bought a Peugeot 307 SW estate (1.6 HDi 110). Although the bodywork and interior are absolutely fine I have found two problems with the engine. One is an oil leak that seems to come from the sump gasket and around the gear box. The other is a error message that appears every time I start the car. It reads "Depollution System Faulty".

As far as I'm aware this relates to the DPF. I have tried regeneration, but the error message still appears. The Snap-On diagnostics tell me the DPF is 49% blocked and that last regeneration occured 180km ago. Do I just need to replace the DPF unit or could it be a problem with a sensor or EGR, etc, etc?

I am desparate to get this fixed, but don't have much money as I've spent it all on buying the car!

Might have run out of Eolys fluid. "Just" replacing the DPF could cost you over £1,000.

Makes sense of the 307. Up to seven forward-facing seats. Good to drive. Decent diesels.
