An automatic and manual in one?
Can I, so to speak, kill two birds with one stone? Is there a smallish car with gearbox type that would satisfy my wife's need for an automatic with my son's need to learn to drive a manual. Our 4 year old A Class Auto suits her but is less good for him!

No. Because it is two pedals that determines the legal difference between a manual and an automatic. While you can now override most automatics with a lever or with paddles, that does not count as driving a manual car.

Much better execution of original A-Class concept. Feels far higher quality, especially inside. Easy to park.
