Economy light

The economy light has gone out in the dash of my Toyota Carina E. Does this mean I new bulb? If yes, can I get to it from the back of the dash?

Well it could be the bulb that has gone, if so its a easy job to do.

Disconnect the Negative terminal of the battery.
Remove the 2 self tapping screws on the black instrument facia.
Remove the 4 screws holding the dash cluster in.
Slide the cluster towards you and tip upside down to get access to the bulb and replace it.
Refit in reverse order.
With the drivers door open - reconnect the Negative battery terminal(the Central locking will activate when you connect the battery, and if the door is closed and keys in the ignition - you are going to look silly)

One other thing to watch for is if it's not the bulb and your fuel consumption goes up, if that does happen you may need further investigation.
