What MPV do you think I should buy?
I live on the south coast and work in the water sports industry. I’m looking for a large MPV I can take the seats out of and turn into a large van when needed. I have to take students and equipment around a lot, hence the MPV. I have had crew cab vans broken into in the past, so not looking at those anymore.I like the versatility of both the Renault Grand Espace and the SsangYong Turismo, as I would need to take all seats out at times in order to put in longer items such as long rowing oars and various diving submersible equipment etc.
I’ve had a Renault Grand Espace in the past and it worked really well for my needs, but wonder if it is getting too old now. However, I did love the full length opening panoramic roof (not something available on the Ssangyong). I also love the look of the Renault too.
The Ssangyong looks very nice indeed, a bit posher and I believe both are similar size. I also see it is available in 4x4 too. This car would need to tow a boat on occasions too. And will be doing a lot of miles up north about once every 2 months and into France/Spain at least twice a year.
As this is a second car for my business I only have around £5k to spend, but both seem to fit into that price range easily.
So just wondering your thoughts on both and if there is a preference please? Also is there anything else to look at? The Chrysler Voyager is okay with its collapsing seats and sliding door, but doesn’t seem as big or have the height.

There's not a great deal to choose between these two vehicles. The Espace is better finished and nicer to drive than the Turismo, but there are not many examples around and it also has its fair share of reliability issues. The Turismo is best with the 2.2-litre engine and seven-speed automatic gearbox, and there are more examples on the market than the Espace. We would suggest looking at both and seeing what is the best example you can find for your money - if you can get a car with modest mileage and a good service history, or even some warranty, then this would be the one to go for. Avoid the Chrysler Grand Voyager, it's notoriously unreliable.
