What car do you suggest as a Land Rover Freelander replacement?
We have driven our Freelander since 2012 and it's sadly time to start thinking about its replacement. We have a couple of important things we would like. High driving position and comfortable for long drives. As we are getting older, we both need glasses for reading but not for driving. I imagine a lot of poeple are in this category. That means we wouldn't be able to read a complex driver's display or difficult to use radio without putting glasses on while driving (which would leave us unable to see the road). We also do long distances in UK and Europe and we've had a few flat tyres over the years. What do people do these days without a spare wheel at 3AM on a Sunday morning in the middle of nowhere?

Given your list of requirements we would suggest starting with our guide to the best family SUVs which you can read here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/guides/best-family-suv/ All of these vehicles offer a high driving position and good levels of comfort. The vast majority of modern cars use touchscreen infotainment systems and digital instrument displays so to a degree this is unavoidable, but many offer voice control and/or steering wheel controls so you can operate many of the systems without having to take your eyes off the road. As for punctures these are for the most part unavoidable, but there is nothing to stop you from purchasing a spare wheel and associated tools, and you can mitigate the chances of a puncture by specifying reinforced tyres which have tougher sidewalls and are more puncture resistant.
