Buying a used estate

I'm looking to buy an 18-24 month old estate car with a bugdet of around £12-13k and have narrowed my choice down to a Toyota Avensis Tourer, Volvo V50, Seat Exeo ST, Citroen C5 Tourer. I drive around 9,000 miles a year on a mixture of A class and B class roads, occasional motorways. Without driving any yet, the Toyota is probably my first pick. Which car and engine would you recommend?

Avensis with the 1.8 or 2.0 Valvematic petrol engine. Almost as economical and almost as low CO2 as a diesel, with none of a diesel's expensive problem areas.

We have a budget up to about £16000. I like the Honda CR-V, my wife prefers the Mondeo Estate.
