To DPF or not to DPF?
Finally I have made my mind up to go for a used Mondeo estate, about 1 year old. I have discovered about possible problems with the DPF, as I would only be doing approx 3,000 to 4,000 miles per year, mostly local runs.
I have been told a diesel is not the best choice. The reason I chose the diesel is because of the pulling power. Can you tell me when was the DPF introduced to the Mondeo, and secondly how can I identify a non DPF model?

The current model Mondeo diesels have always had a DPF. The previous model Mondeo III never did. But don't worry unless you have a problem. Buy decent diesel (BP Ultimate diesel.) Try not to do short runs from cold starts. Try to get in as many longer runs as you reasonably can.
