The new Golf Cabrio
Do you think the new Golf Cabriolet with 2.0 diesel will be a good long term car to own? This would be my 'retirement' car. My other choice is a Scirrocco.

I drove the new Golf Cabriolet last week and it's a very good car: smart, fun to drive, well equipped and safe.
Unless you plan to do huge distances, I'd stick with either the 1.2-litre or 1.4-litre TSI petrols - both are quick, while the 1.4-litre is better at covering longer distances.
The downside is that it's not available to order until July, with the first deliveries in September. Even then not all engines will be available. 1.2 and 1.4-litre TSI plus the 1.6-litre diesel arrive first, with the lower power 1.4-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI arriving towards the end of the year.
So you could be in for a bit of a wait.
