Should I change my car?
I have a Sept 2007 Mazda 6 2.0 diesel, which has been totally reliable and trouble free for 3.5 years.
I have read your advice that diesels start costing money in years 4-6. What is likely to need doing in year 4, and should I plan to change my Mazda 6 in August. Also is it belt or chain cam?

The 2.0d is belt cam. Some loud complaints about DPF problems with it, but this is by no means universal. What could go wrong are DPF, Dual Mass Flywheel, EGR, turbo and timing belt. You'd be very unlucky for them all to fail, though.
