Do brake lights come on when using adaptive cruise control?

I recently purchased a car which is the first one I have had which has adaptive cruise control. The car has sensors which cause the car to automatically brake if the car in front becomes too close. Are the brake lights initiated when this occurs or should I be wary of cars behind me?

Yes, the brake lights will be illuminated when the adaptive cruise control causes the car to slow down. It's good to be aware of this - some drivers aren't and you'll see their brake lights flashing regularly as their car slows down and speeds up with the traffic.
