Can I reapply for my driving licence now my health has improved?

I am a 67 year old male. I only have sight in one eye. A year ago, when my driving licence was due for renewal, I was required by the DVLA to take an eyesight test. I failed this test on my peripheral vision and subsequently had to surrender my licence. Following a cataract operation my eyesight has improved to a level that I can now pass the test. Can I request a new test and the reinstatement of my licence if passed or do I have to start from scratch again by applying for a provisional licence etc

You can reapply for your driving licence if your medical situation has changed. You can read the DVLA's guidance on this process here: www.gov.uk/reapply-driving-licence-medical-conditi...n but we would suggest confirming with your doctor that you now meet the medical standard required.
