What's the best car for a family with two children?
My London-based son and his family need to replace their problematic Mazda CX-5 in a hurry. They need a car to accommodate their two small children and all that goes with them on a daily basis and holidays. They would prefer a premium badge in a car that is good to drive, petrol, automatic and around 4.5m long max, due to their limited parking space. The car is used for a daily commute of about 30 mins each way and for regular longer trips.

We'd recommend a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. It's a versatile yet stylish people carrier that measures just under 4.4m in length - so should easily fit on your son's driveway. It's available as a plug-in hybrid, which might suit his needs if he can charge at home. If not, one of the regular petrol models would be ideal. Otherwise, look at small SUVs such as the BMW X1 or Audi Q3.
