Has stop/start had its day?

Has stop/start had its day? There doesn't seem to be many cars using the system now.

Quite the opposite. Most new cars will have some form of stop/start system. Hybrid models (including mild hybrids) will turn the engine off completely before you come to a complete halt, before starting the engine when necessary.
