Welcome Break parking fine
I recently visited Welcome Break London Gateway and have received a fine stating that I had not displayed a valid pay and display ticket because I stayed longer than permitted.
I wasn't aware of this requirement and I was using the services, spending money there. They are now seeking £120, reduced to £60 if I pay up within 12 days. What should I do?

Write back telling them you were following government orders to "tiredness kills, take a break", you were spending money on their premises the whole time, and that is the basis of your parking contract with Welcome Break. If they wish to take this matter further then you will gladly attend a small claims track court convenient to you to defend your action and accuse Welcome Break of extortion and abuse of its contract to provide free parking for a reasonable period at a motorway service area.
