Should my tyres last more than 7000 miles?

I have just replaced both front tyres after 6900 miles due to very excessive wear. I drive short local journeys. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

A set of front tyres should last a lot longer than 7000 miles, so this would suggest there is something wrong with the geometry. We would suggest having the front wheels laser aligned - something we would recommend whenever replacing the front tyres - which should show up any issues and correct them. We would also suggest keeping a close eye on your tyre pressures and setting them to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
