The traffic information on my Honda has stopped working?
Two years ago when I bought a new Honda CR-V the built in satnav had a traffic icon which when pressed could give a map showing traffic conditions in the neighbourhood and which also calculated and informed of any hold-ups on a planned route, even suggesting a diversion at times. It was provided by a general subscription from Honda to Auto Trafficmaster.
In the last few months it has ceased working, apparently because Honda "were not satisfied with the quality of service". Are there any plans to replace it or can you suggest another service which can provide the same information?

This issue seems to depend on which traffic data provider is linked to your vehicle. We understand that both TrafficMaster and INRIX historically provided traffic data to radio stations, but that the TrafficMaster service has now stopped. This may be because modern vehicles rely on internet data to provide traffic information and TrafficMaster has declined to continue the service.
Unfortunately, unless Honda decides to change their vehicles to accept the new provider that you will not be able to access this service. The alternative would be to use the in-built navigation (if fitted) to provide traffic information for your route, or app-based navigation such as Google Maps or Waze to provide information for your route. We would also suggest contacting Honda UK to complain about the loss of service and enquire on what they plan to do to rectify the issue.
