Shop around for the best deal on a MINI?

After 13 trouble-free years of owning a Mazda 323, my wife has decided she needs a new car.

She went for a test drive in a Mini One 1.6 (Chilli Red) at a main dealer on Saturday and liked it very much.

After the test drive the salesman sat down with us and went through the 'Build your MINI' programme with her and she decided to add the Pepper Pack, Electric Sunroof and Multi Function Steering wheel. The car is now priced at £16,100 which they can finance at 3.5% base rate (6.8% APR).

My question is would it be worth our while going to a different Mini (BMW) dealer to see if they can offer us a better deal? Or are the rumours true in that you will not get discounts on new Mini's?

They probably can't. BMW controls MINI prices very effectively.
