A car for sale is advertised as one owner but a vehicle check shows three - should I walk away?

I am buying a car from a car supermarket for a good price. I asked the salesperson how many owners it had and got an email stating one owner and full service history. I paid for a car check and it came back as three previous owners. Have I any come back?

We would suggest presenting the results of your history check to the sales person and asking them to explain. Either they should provide you with evidence to prove that it only has one owner, or they should offer a reduction in price on the vehicle given that it is not as advertised. If they are unwilling to do either of these options, we would walk away and shop elsewhere.
