No service history in car advert, is this bad?

Is it fair to assume that when a car is advertised without any comment on its service history, either there is no history or it's very 'part-history'?

A poorly worded car advertisement doesn't necessarily mean the vehicle itself is poor. The owner may have forgotten to include the service history in the description or the advertisement itself may have been written by someone else on their behalf.

That's why it's always worth sending an email or making a phone call to the owner to establish the true history and condition of the car.
