Wheel and tyre sizes on a Honda CR-V
I have just ordered a new Honda CR-V 2.2 CDTi ES. It comes as standard with 18-inch wheels and I am aware you have suggested it would ride better on 17-inch wheels. If I went for this option whilst the ride might be improved would the handling be compromised?
Also I plan to buy a separate set of winter wheels. As both 17-inch and 18-inch wheels use tyres of the same width (225mm) would 17-inch wheels offer any better grip in winter conditions of snow and slush than 18-inch wheels?

The CR-V is not too bad on 18s because the tyres are a reasonably sensible profile. 19s are to be avoided.
