Should I buy a very low mileage car?

Is there a downside to buying a very low mileage car?

Cracked tyres, bodywork and suspension corrosion, clogged up fuel and air filters, and contaminated fluids (caused by condensation). If the car has been used for short journeys the oil and engine fluids may have never warmed up properly, increasing wear and tear.

Unless you're buying a nearly new car, avoid low-mileage diesels. These will be susceptible to costly DPF problems caused by a build-up of unburnt materials in the filter.
