Pre-reg risks - from a main dealer?

I am about to buy a BMW 3-Series through Broadspeed (online).

The deal means the car would be registered first by the dealer and I would receive the V5 after approx 1-2 weeks, and be the second owner.

I pay the BMW dealer direct, so assume no risk on that part, but who owns the car?

Any ne been through this, or any advice, or any risks, or feedback on Broadspeed?

If it's only one or two weeks, then maybe no problem.

If it's six months, then a big problem.

You might not be able to insure the car with your present insurer if you are not the keeper. Check.
