My emmissions light is on

A couple days ago my EPC lights came on. After I stop it disappears. Today the emmissions light went on.

The car is a VW Golf 1.6 from 2001.

I have Diagnostic test running and it came up with the following:
Fault code P1553 eight sensor / induction manifold pressure sesor invalid ratio.
P1403 exhaust - gas recirculation system control diference.

It could be the Lambda sensor at fault. Given that someone has carried out the diagnostic check could they not assist further in the repair?
