Diesel or petrol Kia?
I'm thinking of a 09/59 Kia Cee'd, largely due to the seven-year warranty (or remainder of).
Unsure on 1.6 diesel or 1.6 petrol. We do around 8-10000 miles per year, mostly town driving and school run with several long UK holiday and relative runs. Low tax and mpg is attractive on diesel. Have you heard of problems with filters and service cost on the diesel? Being second hand there is no extra purchase cost with the diesel of course. What else to look out for?

Kia resisted fitting diesel particulate filters as long as they could so if the car does not have a diesel particulate filter you won't get trouble from one driving a lowish mileage. All the 1.4 and 1.6 engines are chain cam, so no problem of timing belts breaking.
