Can you recommend a spacious car?

I'm looking at changing car, I do around 6,000 miles a year and I'm not a small bloke so I need something with a bit of room. I am looking for something around £5,000. Cheap tax would be nice, reliability is important. What cars or vans should I be looking at?

A petrol Honda Civic would be a very sensible, reliable choice. If you'd like something a little roomier, consider a Skoda Octavia.
