May oui

Could you please explain to your readers why we have to put up with the ramblings of James May? We find him on both the front and rear pages of the Saturday edition of the motoring edition, you switch on the TV there he is again with two other clowns. He just talks a load of rubbish. We motorists take our motoring very seriously. (It costs us enough.) I am sure you could find a job for him in the children’s edition. And why does he keep stroking his hair? Has he got nits? If he has anything to do with any more articles I shall change my paper.
yours is the first page I turn too every Saturday morning with a fresh cup of filter coffee.

Horses for courses, I'm afraid. I like his sense of humour. He has a formidable amount of knowledge about all things mechanical, has a PPL, has his own aircraft (his second), spends the money he makes from broadcasting on boys toys, like motorbikes, a Porsche Boxster a Rolls Corniche and various other cars. I do a more down to earth kind of thing. No point me trying to do what he, Clarkson and Hammond do (which I happen to like a lot). No point in them trying to do what I do (they'd make far less money). What they have done is got more people watching programmes about cars than ever before, by making it entertaining. And they keep your TV licence fee down because the BBC is able to market Top Gear throughout the world and make more money from it than from any other programme.
