Scenic rout
At the moment my son is running a 2002 Renault Scenic 1.6, which he has had 4 years. It has always been very greedy and underpowered and overall a big disappointment and averages about 34mpg, even on motorways, less around town. He still likes Renaults but would like advice on his next MPV. This is regarding economy, pulling power and comfort etc. He often pulls a small trailer with a bike rack. Also 3 children plus wife to consider. Any advice would be appreciated

Surprisingly the latest Renault Scenic 1.4TCe 130 is the pick of the
bunch, with a really sweet, chain-cam, water-cooled turbo engine that
pulls much better than a diesel from low rpm and should do 40mpg.
