Please could you help settle a domestic? My husband says that Toyota did not make an automatic Celica. I say they must have done (but what do I know I am only a female). Whilst we are on the subject, do you know if MG ever made an automatic sports car?

There was no official UK market automatic of the most recent Celica, but there was an MMT of the MR2. Yes, there was (briefly) a 3-speed automatic MGB on the UK market. And there was an MGF with a CVT auto. Mazda has always made MX5 autos for Japan and the USA, but only officially imported a few Mk II autos, though a 6 speed Mk III auto has been available in the UK from this year.
