I have a 2007 BMW E90 318i SE with 22,000 miles, and warning lights have come on telling me that the DSC system has failed. Do you know if this is a common fault and if independent specialists can fix it? In the Republic of Ireland the car only comes with a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Demand a goodwill replacement, then, because it is completely inexcusable to sell an expensive new car that develops a safety related fault such as this so early. It's also a common problem with VAG cars, so I guess this points at a German components supplier.
