Kombi nation

Driving north up the M11, I spotted a car transporter carrying eight brand new unregistered Peugeot Partner Origins. They looked very similar to the Citroen Berlingo Firsts; they had side windows (and twin rear doors). However when I checked the Peugeot website, the Partner Origin car with side windows is not listed - only the Peugeot Partner Origin van. Is it usual practice for manufacturers to make models available that they do not list in their brochures? Or was this an exceptional circumstance? Someone suggested they might have been on their way to a Motability conversion. Can you shed any light on this? (I have been trying to buy a car of this exact spec for some time)

They might have been a special order, for example by Royal Mail that
operates post taxis in some country areas. Berlingos and Partners to this specification regularly come up for auction. VW has just launched a ‘kombi’ 5-seater version of the Caddy Maxi.
