Regarding the e-mail headed 'Higher Cars', my brother in law has a Golf and cannot fit clubs and trolley in the boot. Yet my wife's Astra Twintop will accept both easily in the boot. It seems that most hatchback/estates have less available width as the interiors are 'squared off' for cosmetic reasons but cars with boots often allow the full width between the wings to be used. Alas I don't know of many tall cars with boots.
