Obscure object of Desire
I need to sell my 2004/53 Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6 Desire 2 privately, but am unsure what realistic price I should ask. The car is in very good condition inside and out has full service history and has covered 48k miles. Parkers used car guide says it is worth up to £2,670 and Glass’s up to £3,771. Which is more realistic in your view? I would like a quick sale and know you recommend BCA Sure Sell. If I were to use them, should I expect to get a much lower price than advertising through Autotrader?

It trade books at £2,700, which is about what you would get at auction, minus commission, unless a bidding battle occurred. But this
reads like a genuine car for which there is a good market (not many full 5-seat MPVs capable of taking three child seats across the back), so worth trying www.autotrader.co.uk at £3,500 and using its special
divert number so you do not get plagued with con calls.
