What's the best petrol automatic for older drivers?
We are a couple in our later years. Healthy and active 70 and 80 year olds! We do a reduced mileage now average 5000 per year, but still envisage taking our car into Europe occasionally. Currently we drive a 2008 Volvo C30 (diesel) and have driven Volvos for over 30 years. We are now looking at changing our car for something that is more economical - both mileage and servicing. We would like a Japanese car.
Our requirements are: 4/5 door, reliability, fuel economy and bootspace. It must also have a petrol engine and an automatic gearbox. Ideally our budget would be £10,000, plus whatever we might get for our Volvo. Hope you can help.

My recommendation would be the Honda Jazz 1.3 petrol CVT automatic: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/jazz-2014/
Honda has a very good reputation for reliability and the 1.3 petrol will return around 50mpg on the road. The Jazz also sits quite high from the road, which means it's easier to get in/out of than a normal hatchback. You also get a large boot, with folding 'magic' rear seats that gives brilliant practicality.
A budget of £10,000 should get you a three-year-old Jazz with low-mileage: www.honestjohn.co.uk/cars-for-sale/search/Honda/Ja...c

I need a used car for £2,000 or less. Can you please tell me which petrol and diesel models have the best reliability within this type of budget?
I'm in the market for a used car and have a budget of around £5000. Ideally, I'd like a petrol as I don't do many long journeys. I've had my eye on a Citroen DS3 1.6 VTI (2010-2015) but can't seem to find...
