Are Italian tickets enforceable in the UK?

I received six tickets from Italian police in 2017. I responded to the original tickets at the time with an explanation, giving the driver details. I heard nothing back from them until April 2020. The fines are now 1000 euros each with penalties and interest. Are these tickets enforceable in UK? They now have a debt collection agency chasing me.

Once upon a time, the DVLA couldn't give details of UK drivers to foreign agencies, but overseas authorities can access driver records these days - but there's still a lot of people that think if you ignore a fine in Italy, Spain etc then you'll get away with it. Some foreign authorities hire UK companies to chase fines on their behalf, which is what your situation sounds like. If you keep ignoring the fine, UK agency could start civil proceedings as a debt. Personally, I would speak to Citizen's Advice. That debt is yours to pay - but if you got into contact before then they should have a record (or you should), that you tried to deal with it. Though I'm not sure exactly what you said when you replied in 2017.
