I am looking to upgrade my Skoda Octavia 2.0 petrol auto estate to a more economical car. We mainly use it for town driving and would like to know whether buying a smaller engined petrol or a diesel is better? It needs to be automatic

For town running, a Toyota Prius or the new Honda Insight would be better. £15 tax and congestion charge exempt, as well as more economical and less trouble when running in traffic. Both are CVT autos.
