Holesome girl

Please can I have some advice. My husband was forced to keep to the edge of the road as an on coming vehicle came in the opposite direction, there was a big hole in the road and he could not avoid it or hit the other vehicle. This has buckled the wheel costing £200 to replace, plus the inconvenience. Is this the council's fault? Can we get them to pay for our new wheel?

See www.potholes.co.uk Depends how long the pothole was there and whether or not it was previously reported. Negligence only occurs when councils are notified of potholes and do nothing, or fail to inspect the road often enough.
