Twist or bust?
My car is a 1999V Peugeot 406 L HDI Estate with no a/c and 83,000 miles on the clock. It has just had a new exhaust and drivers electric window switch fitted but is otherwise in good working order and is a reliable car. It has been annually serviced with an oil change every 6 months. Bearing in mind that the trade in value for this car will be small, we have approx £6,000 towards another 2nd hand estate.
Should I change this car now whilst the second hand market is very poor or keep hold of this car until it falls apart?

In the same way it's a good time to trade up in houses, it's a good time to trade up in cars. Probably better in cars because while house prices are still falling, I don't think car prices can drop much further or manufacturers will simply stop making cars. Some already have. Honda is shutting down for February and March.
