Good Manners
I have driven a Hyundai Matrix 1.8 for the last seven years, from new, and never had any trouble with it. I am 73 years old and don't do many miles. I just drive around the Isle of Man, where I live, and occasionally go over to England. I have now seen the latest Hyundai ix35 automatic, which is a beautiful looking vehicle, or I might be interested in the new CRV Honda automatic. I wonder if you have had any feedback from the Hyundai ix35 and if you can tell me anything about the new CRV Honda.

Test and video of the ix35 here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/road-tests/hyundai/hyund...t You will also find tests of the CR-V 2.2iCDTI that I ran for 6 months. But neither the ix35 I drove, nor the CR-V were automatics. There are now both petrol and diesel CR-V autos, but the diesel is not low CO2 and has a DPF so won’t be brilliant for short runs. What might be best is the Toyota RAV-4 2.0i Valvematic CVT, that is actually more efficient then the RAV-4 diesel automatic and with no DPF to worry about.
