What happened to solid state batteries for EVs?

What happened to solid state batteries? They were going to transform electric cars, with full charging times in minutes?

Dyson's electric car project was expected to use solid state batteries but that was axed towards the end of last year. Toyota is likely to be the first car manufacturer to bring solid state batteries to market. We're expecting to see a prototype from Toyota this year with production models ready within the next five years.
