Mas hysteria

Do you think we are plain bonkers, to want to buy a 3 year old Maserati? We love the look of the car and the noise of the engine. We have dreamed of owning one for a long time. Secondhand prices seem reasonable. Please feel free to shatter our dreams if you think we are potty even to consider buying such a car? Above all do they have a good reputation in the trade?

A friend of mine bought a 3200 GT twin turbo full-auto a couple of years ago for £11,000 and has had no trouble, so it can be done. (Trade price is still what he paid for it.) Previously he ran a Mercedes 560SEL for about 80,000 miles, had very little trouble with that, then sold it for more than he paid for it. But he's that sort of bloke. Either lucky or makes his own luck with older, high-end cars. I don’t trust my luck with them.
