I am looking to change my Golf in the not too distant future and am looking for a mid sized diesel auto 4 x 4. I have studied your web site and driven the new Kia Sorento, which was very impressive. However, if reasonably specified it is upwards of £25k and frankly I'm not convinced that it will hold its value in the long run. The Ford Kuga appears to hold its value but alas is not available in auto. Is Ford likely to make in auto in the future? Maybe I should hang on till next year for the Q3, what's your opinion.

Buy a Sorento diesel auto or a Santa Fe diesel auto, which comes in
Cheaper, from about £22,800, and there are discounts on both. No reason why a 2WD version of the Kuga should not get Ford's excellent Powershift within the next year or so. But it won't be cheaper. The Korean Won is one of the few currencies in the same sort of state as Sterling. The Kuga is built in Euro land and will probably go up another 10% this year to balance the devaluation of sterling against the Euro. The forthcoming new Hyundai ix35 and KIA Sportage diesel autos will also be worth a look, but re built in Slovakia so suffer the same Euro v/s Sterling pressure.
